First the jokes aren't aimed at "Russians" per se, but communists. It turns out though that Russians were once communists! Because this a site run by non-Russians for non-Russians... it would be totally different if people were laughing at themselves.Imagine these captions were in another language, and the mistranslations made use of crude stereotypes. I could come up with 5 languages of the top of my head where this site would immediately be deemed offensive... For example, if the captions were in Arabic, and the translations had any kind of fundamentalist Islamic themes... people would find it unacceptable.But it's acceptable to make fun of Russians.
